1960 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale

This Northern California based "Paprika Red" Beetle Convertible is a real beauty.
Owned by a lifetime VW collector and enthusiast, owned for over 20 years
but the restoration was completed just a couple years ago.

The goal was not a flawless concours level restoration, but to make a super clean driver
that can be enjoyed and showed with pride.

The body and chassis were media blasted to bare metal before the restoration.
Body repairs and any rust issues were treated properly and it is a super solid example now.

It was a full body off restoration and the quality is very nice.
The paint color is a rare period correct convertible only color called Paprika Red (L142)

There has been some metal replacement done during the restoration including the rear apron
and the complete chassis as the original had moderate rust issues as many convertibles do.

Very nice quality body and paint, excellent chrome, all new body seals and rubber.

Correct 1960 "snowflake" taillights and Convertible only engine lid.

263 miles on the odometer since the restoration has been completed.

New brakes all the way around, new wiring harness, 6 volt optima battery
New tires all the way around including a matching spare.

Clean title in the sellers name.

Chassis number matches the paperwork.

Interior was all redone with a kit from JBugs

Cleanly restored seat frames, new carpet, etc.

All new window scrapers and felts, nice chrome on the window frames.

All fresh and very clean

The convertible only mirror is a tough part to find.
This one is in great shape but does require tightening of the set screw to keep it firm
when the top is down and it is flipped upwards .

New glove box

Carpet is done in black, sourced from JBugs.

Steering wheel is super clean.

Correct early rectangular Karmann body badge

New fender beading as well

Finished nicely under the front hood with a new wiring cover and carpet kit.

36 hp engine is not the original to the car but it is an excellent runner
that has been serviced and very well detailed.

The transmission as well has been serviced and it is a delightful driver
that cruises nicely at 60-65 with more power to pass as needed.

The engine was in great shape when the owner started with the restoration, so
there was no need for a rebuild. Compression numbers were good and a simple oil change
and full service was tackled before re-installation.

Engine number as mentioned is not the original to the car.

New brakes, shocks, cables, wiring, etc.

Very solid support rails and floor pans

Front end was all redone

A little dirt from the drive but as you can see its all been
done detailed during the restoration

Support rails and floor pans are super solid and rust free.

Engine is clean underneath

Chassis number on the tag and under the seat are matching.

Rain tray is present under the engine lid

Rear apron was replaced and the design is not the original "H" pattern as a result.
