1966 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale

This is a great little car for a few different reasons.
First of all it is an extremely solid California car since new.
Second of all it is a black 66.
Believe it or not...that's a pretty tough thing to find.
And thirdly, a lot of the hard work has been done to it.
With a little extra attention it could be a show worthy example...or just drive it as it is.

The paintwork is pretty freshly done and it was a very nice job.
Mechanically it has all been gone through as well, so it is a great runner and driver.

The car is begging for some whitewalls or at least paint the wheels two tone as they would be originally.
Getting the stock running board chrome on there would help as well...

New window rubber and trimmings have been installed all the way around.

Car has been converted to 12 volt electrics and has H4 style headlights.

original black California plates front and back.

Very nice paint with smooth reflection and no noteable chips or scratches on the nose.

New windshield glass and rubber with trim.

Original German bumpers.

Good radial tires on all four corners.

Very smooth and straight down the sides and nice door gap.

Smooth roof reflecting the California palm trees...

Passenger side taillight lens needs replacing...very minor ding in the center of the rear bumper.

New fender beading and taillight seals and such.

Bumper bracket seals could be improved upon...but that is simple stuff.

Most importantly the paint and body is very nice...look at that reflection!

Window scrapers could use replacement, but the glass is all excellent.

A humble yet classy Beetle.
Really it would be a blast to take this one to the next level with some nice tires and accessories.
Black cars look great with the extra trimmings in my opinion.

Dashboard is clean and stock and proper.
Original steering wheel in nice shape...horn ring is broken (replacements are readily available)

Interior is in decent shape but not quite up to the same level as the exterior in my opinion.
Certainly useable as it is, but if you were after a show machine it would be great to swap it out and
go with the original red interior or perhaps two tone grey vinyl.

Seats are done in vinyl and velour, very comfortable.
Drivers side seat has had a seam repair at the top.

Rear seat looks good

Stock perforated vinyl headliner is in nice shape.

Looks good.

Instrumentation is in fine shape and functioning properly.

Radio delete plate is in place.

Glove box

No gloves, but a nice original 66 owners manual is present.
Glove box itself is an original in nice shape.

4 speed manual transmission...

Door jams are very clean and solid.

Door latches and such were removed during paint so everything looks nice and clean.

Door panels are in fine shape.
If the car were mine, I would swap out the carpet, panels and seat upholstery for the stock vinyl
and rubber mats...the result would be a much more correct visual that I think would add to the value of the car
very much...especially if you went with the original red which would look awesome against the black exterior.

Back out in the daylight...

Under the front hood is looks pretty tidy.

Wiring is all quite clean.

Spare tire well is a little dusty but will clean up nice and is very straight.

Just needs a little cleaning.

Underside of the hood is nice and smooth with good paint.

No signs of any damage or repair.

Original undercoating in the fender wells is flaking off in spots as it is known to do.

Sheet metal looks extremely solid on this car.

Chassis is very sound and solid and shows no signs of rust repairs.

Pretty dang nice eh?

Underside of the engine is clean.

mechanically the car is very good and has been recently serviced by a known mechanic
in Orange County. Many new parts, all new brakes, etc...a turn key driver.

In closing the car is a nice one just as it sits, and with a little detailing and accessorization it could be
quite a sweet looking machine. I like that it is a solid original car under the shiny paint...that is very important.
I like this one...hopefully you will too.
