1967 Euro Delivery Beetle Sedan For Sale
Every now and then a car comes across the desk here that just stops me in my tracks.
This all original low mileage survivor 67 is one of those cars.
This is not a restored car, it is an incredible survivor with under 18k original miles since new.
It was purchased from the original owner in Germany in the 1980's
and has been with the current owner in New Hampshire ever since.
Its been driven minimally over the years, but never in the rain.
In fact the owner tells me he has never even turned the hose on it.
100% original even down to the tires on the car!!
The car has been well stored and is fully operational.
The hubcaps do come with the car by the way.

The paint is really impressive on the car, all original and it just looks showroom fresh.
There is some detailing to do like scrubbing the running board mats and perhaps a
careful polish. Its incredible just as it sits, but after attending to the details it will be even more mind blowing.
These are reportedly the original tires?

This is original paint on the wheels as well.
Insanely clean and well preserved.
Being a European delivery car the speedometer reads in Kilometers
28,577 kilometers = 17,750 miles
Blaupunkt Euro band radio is original to the car.
Another truly special part of the car is that it was delivered with the very rare Teak
interior package and cloth seats. This package, much like the pigalle package
which was red, means that all soft surfaces and materials were color matched
The brown rubber mats, carpet , door panels and seats.
Rear seat, looks like it has never had a butt in it.
Headliner looks perfect even below the rear window where they always age.

Whats even more impressive is just how clean everything is just as it sits,
The car has not been detailed and prepared for these photos.

Its even impressive in the places you would never see, like under the door.
Birth Certificate from VW spells out the options and production specs.
Note that this is a special ordered 40hp engine, not the 1500 that we got in the US for 67.
The Blaupunkt Wolfsburg radio is also noted as being factory installed.

The original German paperwork remains with the car as well.
Delivered on December 9th 1966 to a Karl Christ who was apparently a builder/crafstman
in Rudesheim which is in Western Germany along the Rhine river which is known for its fine wine.
A bunch of early paperwork accompanies the car.
The engine room is just insane...again this is just as it is, it has not been cleaned
or detailed in here and other than fuel line and the muffler, it is all original parts.
All original and wow.
Picture this after a careful clean up and it will look like it just came off the showroom floor
Numbers matching of course. Its probably never been out of the car!
The car has a clear Montana registration and plates.
Also included are the original German plates from the car.
Wiring cover and trunk liner are in very nice condition

Super clean, solid and straight.
It does look like the bottom of the well here has had a layer of
protective paint applied to keep things clean and rust free.

Euro model of course and the factory bulb type headlights remain in the car.
Only the US models got the smaller upright headlights for 67.
Hood is not peppered with stone chips or any touch ups.
The low mileage and excellent storage is apparent here.
Condition of the paint even in the exposed front end down low looks fantastic.
OK...these marks are not paint chips...just bugs and dirt.
Hassia tail light lenses are correct and original to the car.
More details
The fender wells are very clean and are not undercoated, while the chassis was treated to an undercoat
The surface shows some expected chips and aging.
The underside has not been detailed obviously and there is some surface rust
on the heater boxes and exposed metal parts.
The floor pans look very solid.
The undercoating has aged and collected some dirt as well.
It looks like there are a couple of spots where the undercoat has been touched up
but I see no signs of any rust or repairs under here
This would be an amazing car to have the bottom dry ice blasted to get through the grime
and reveal the originality below. That and the cobwebs from storage... eww...ick.
Typical European heavy "body schutz" type undercoating.
Definitely helps protect, but its not super pretty.
This is one of those cars that is such a fun experience to own.
There is no restoration to be done, its all about preservation.
Spending some time deep cleaning and treating every surface to preserve the best you can.
Each time you touch it, the results will satisfy...I really love original cars like this.
Preservation cars at this level are sooo hard to find.
They are highly prized for their rarity as well as what we can learn from them.
The originality shows exactly how the factory did it, and the beauty of the original
finishes can never be matched with modern materials.
They are truly only original once.
Having an original car that shows its age is one thing...but to have one that still looks new is another.
Add to all that, that it is a European spec 1967,
It has the exceedingly rare optional "teak" cloth interior
and that it was ordered with the 40hp engine and a factory Blaupunkt radio
that is all spelled out on the birth certificate from Wolfsburg Germany. This is a
very rare example and one that would be incredibly difficult to find its equal.
