This Southern California based 71 Squareback is a good looking, good running very solid example.
It has been sitting for just a bit as a new car in the family is getting more use, so now it is time to sell this off.
Its an original California car, it has had some restoration work done and it looks very nice.
All stock, no modifications.
Body looks quite nice as does the paint.
Underside shots show recent axle boots and a bit of normal grime underneath.
The chassis looks very solid in these photos!
Front axle...
Looks like the spare tire tub has slipped out of it's holder at the bottom...easy fix.
A few cobwebs from sitting...
The engine is all stock with the fuel injection system still intact.
The seller states that it runs and drives well.
Looks like everything is properly in place!
Under the front hood...
The body color is original to the car and the finish in here is original.
Interior was restored at one point...looks pretty nice but could use some detailing for sure.
Door panels are clean...pockets kinda saggy.
Dash looks good. Modern audio system under the dash.
Carpet dash cover over the original pad.
Some surface rust on the rings around the instruments.
There are a few little things that can be done that will greatly improve the overall look
and that is kinda fun with a car like this.
Under the seat in the battery area there is a little surface rust but it looks to be quite solid.
Rear seat.
Seats show minor wear but are holding up pretty nice overall.
Standard 4 speed car by the way.
There is a speaker box in the back.
Rear area all carpeted nice
(sagging a little on the back of the seat but easily re-glued.
Really a nice car for the money.
Its something you could just drive as is or put a little effort into to
bring it nice enough to bring to the VW shows.
It is a great car underneath it all.
The glass is all good, chrome looks nice.
Missing one of the trim rings on the wheels.
Tires are said to be nice...I really like this car!
Paint looks quite glossy.
I like the blue California plates and the dealer plate frames.
A few stone chips here and there but overall quite clean.
In closing this looks like a pretty sharp car and the owner seems motivated to see it go.
He has priced it very reasonably and I think it should sell quick.
