1967 VW Westfalia Camper For Sale
This super clean 1967 Westy is located in Arizona.
It is a well restored all stock example that shows very well inside and
out.
1967 was the final year for the split screen Bus, and many say that it
is the best of the years.
The 12 volt electrics, larger displacement engine and taller gearing
make them very good drivers.
They are still "old and slow" but are not quite as slow as their
predecessors.
This one is a very clean and well sorted example and the onwer has gone
to extra lengths to make it the best it can be
prior to the sale. As an example, the marks on the bumper in this
photos have now been repaired and the bumper looks fresh and new.
The interior is excellent in the bus with all the proper original
cabinets and details in place.
Only thing remaining to do is perhaps curtains.
Wood looks fantastic
Spice rack in very nice shape
The pop top is in nice shape and works well.
The velvet green color is original to the bus and is the best color in
my opinion for a camper.
Floor has been redone in a material very close to the original.
Windows are all in great shape and the screens are included (but are
not installed at the moment)
The camp stool as well is an original and is a desirable detail.
Body and paint look great...the Bus is very clean and shows quite well.
For the uber-picky purists out there, I see that the bumpers are
actually 64 or earlier design
with the "slash" style ends. 67 should come to a point in the center of
the blade.
Only a total freak like myself would probably notice this...but I am
not the only freak out there I guess.
The back up lights in the body above the taillights are correct for 67.
The rear liggage area is super clean and the original tent and poles
are in the back here.
Painted hubcaps are correct for the camper...so many people seem to go
for the chrome.
Interior is wonderful in this Bus.
The seats are done in a very nice pleated vinyl.
Steering wheel and column are painted in ivory.
(Again a note for the total silly purist...wheel and column should be
black and the seat upholstery should be the salt and pepper grey)
Door panels are correct and fresh and look fantastic
Steering wheel and dash look excellent.
Out back is a very smooth running 1500cc single port engine.
Carb, fuel pump and distributor are modern replacements, but the rest
looks bone stock to me.
Rearward facing seat looks fresh and clean.
This is a bench seat model with the wider seat here.
The walk through has a much narrower seat pointing back.
Underneath is very clean and solid.
The screws poking through here in this shot have now been clipped short.
Looks super tidy under here.
Wheels and tires are clean and in good shape.
Window frames have a nice polish to them.
Odometer reads just over 90k miles.
Floors are very solid and show signs of proper repair.
The black finish is a POR-15 coating that really is killer stuff.
When the floor mat is down it covers this nicely.
It does look to me that the outer sides of the front floor have been
replaced at some point
but it looks very solid and sound.
Original M code tag is in place.
Ready for camping!
Very nice indeed.
Even clean inside the cabinets.
Under the pad in the luggage area the Bus looks very solid and clean.
The Bus has just had a mechanical check up and is a turn key, ready to
run machine.
Brakes, steering and transmission are all working well.
Clean
Glass and window rubber all looks great.
What a sweetheart of a Bus!
The owner thinks there may be a tent pole missing?
Looks like the vast majority of it is here.
The original tent is in fair condition.
It has a few small holes here and there but could be patched up and
used as is.
Tent bag and pole bag are here.
Not sure where this one goes?
Sure is cool to have the tent for it...these are not easy to come by.
Even though it is not perfect it is something you could totally work
with and put into use without a ton of effort.
The child's cot is even here as well.
Some extra material and paint comes with it.
Original manual binder is present.
Filled with manuals and stuff.
Screens forthe camper windows are here and in nice shape.
Original roof rack is included as well!
In closing this is a very sweet Bus.
Great year, great color, well done and detailed and ready for some fun.
The campers have been on the hot list for investors as well and the
market is strong and solid.
Especially with one done stock like this, it is a great buy and a fun
investment for the future.
