1967 VW Bus For Sale

This clean Southern California based 67 Bus is a turn key, ready to run
driver
that has been in this owner's hands for about 6 years. He uses it
weekly for runs to
the beach to go surfing, puts about 50-60 miles on it at a time,
freeway, side street, everything and it has never let him down.

He bought it from a VW nut in Huntington Beach and it had apparantly
been in that owners family for quite some time.
It appears to have been in California for at least the vast majority of
it's life, if not the whole thing.
It is clean and pretty inside and out, has the Safari windows to let in
the breeze and a chrome emblem on the nose.

Not a flawless show car, but clean enough to get major attention on the
road.

A few small chips and scratches here and there but no major body issues
and it looks very solid underneath.

The interior is in good original condition and the correct seats are in
place which is a rarity these days.
Note the proper seat handles and the ashtray on the back of the center
seat.

The dash is clean and un-cut.
In 67 the wider radio hole was introduced and while it currently has no
radio in the hole
you can see it has not been modified.

The two tone paint colors are not original to the van but look very
attractive and classy.

The underside is quite original and untouched and looking at these
photos
it looks like a solid example indeed.

I see the center heater pipe is not in place, but everything else seems
proper.
It looks like the center drag link on the front end has been replaced
which is a very good thing
(when these go bad the steering gets crazy loose)

Heaters are not hooked up on this Bus...the original heater boxes have
been exchanged for "J tubes".
Npt an issue in the warmer climate of course, but if you are in a cold
spot, these parts would have to be put back
(not a huge issue)

The engine is a very good running single port 1600 with 12 volt
electrics, alternator and mechanical advance distributor,
The mileage is unknown on the engine but it runs and drives great.

The interior is in the original materials with the "salt and pepper"
insets.

There is a little bot of rust right around the latch point for the
cargo doors, but otherwise it is said to be solid.

This looks like it may very well be the original interior...which is
quite impressive if so...
There is a couple spots where it is splitting open a bit but remains
clean and comfortable.
Note that you can see the original trim panel underneath the rear seat
in this photo...this is an item often forgotton
on most of these Busses, and finding a true original one is not easy!

Headliner looks really nice and the age of the hinge covers and the
shape of the side panels all point to me to be
original stuff!!

Original mats look good...here I think I can spy a little of the
original paint color poking out in the door jam
looks like Sea Blue perhaps?

A bit of surface rust at the leading edge of the rear floor, but
nothing too nasty.
Looks like the paint finish on the floor itself is original...so it is
not something that has been patched up.

Original seat belts are in place and the area behind the front seat
looks clean and solid.

Looks to me like the front seats and kick panels have been re-done.
Under dash mounted stereo gives you your driving tunes.
Shifter extension is a nice accessory.

Quick shot under the engine...a very average bit of grime...not too wet.
Looks like it might leave a drop at a stop but no puddles.
Tires look good too by the way.

Another headliner shot...check out the priginal round coat hook and
such...this really looks like original 1967 stuff to me!

The Safari windows were added by the current owner and they are such a
cool accessory to have.
Ive spent a fair bit of time driving around So Cal with safari windows
open and it is a great experience indeed!
I like the hula girl too...when that wind blows in you can see
her....(spring)!

Syeering wheel is unrestored and shows some age and a couple normal
cracks.

Back outside it has a very nice look.

While this might not be the mega dollar sunroof deluxe model, it is
still a crowd pleaser and cool cruiser.
With the top models stretching to 6 figures in recent days, it is nice
to see a proper split screen Bus at a realistic price
that a normal guy can afford. That is something that seems to be
a tough find these days.
The values are on the rise...this is a good buy, a good investment and
most of all a good bit of fun for the family!
