Restoration done by So Cal Rods and Customs in Temecula California.

The 17" smoothie wheels by Airkewld are awesome!
I love the red centers and the detail painted logo on the hubcap.
Definitely well done and detailed.

This is a factory 23 window roof by the way, not a reproduction.

That red canvas is so nice against the black roof.
Very eye catching!

This Bus did start life as a 23 window from the factory
however its lower half was in very poor shape when found
as it had been modified heavily with a mid engine V8 conversion!

Here is a pic of the beast prior to restoration when found in North Dakota
As you can see, that is a V8 engine jammed in there!

Originally Sealing Wax Red and Beige Grey as you can see.

With the heavy modifications to the frame and floor of the Bus
it was decided the best way forward was to source a solid un-modified lower half
of another Bus and then blend it with the upper body of the factory 23 window.

The work was done with care and precision and the finished product is an amazing Bus
but its not one for the stock "purists" due to that history and the modern custom modifications.

If you are someone that wants a truly unique custom 23 window
with all the best parts and impressive upgrades, this one has it all and more.

The carpeted box under the rear seat is for the A/C system... yes, this actually has functional
air conditioning so you can be as cool as you look when driving this beauty on a hot day.

Rockford Fosgate audio controller mounted in the fresh air box
which has been sealed by the way. Switch for the A/C controls right next to it.

Dash remains overall quite stock in appearance other than the modern gauges and tastefully
integrated A/C vents in the parcel tray

Details noted

The tags and numbers all align with the original 23 window body.

Matching body number still visible on the sheet metal next to the battery.

Reproduction M code tag mounted in the engine compartment.

Its really an impressive piece and even more-so seeing the "as found" shots above.
This was a multi year big dollar restoration, estimated at over 300k from start to finish.
With less than 5000 miles on it since completion, it still is super fresh and clean.

The best part to me is while it was built to show level it was also built to
drive and enjoy. The feel of it on the road is very nice, that A/C system is bonkers awesome
and the matching fridge, sweet audio system and beautiful interior... performance engine and disc brakes
really it is the ultimate "Resto Mod" version of a 23 window.
