1964 VW Bus For Sale

This California based 1964 Bus has been in the same family since
1966.

An older restoration done to a nice driver quality level, still
shows well
and is a clean fun Bus that is turn key ready to use.

Stock height, no crazy suspension lowering or customization.

Paint color is very pretty, not a factory color perhaps but boy it
looks great.

The interior has been nicely done in a two tone vinyl.
Door panels are factory style and materials sourced from Wolfsburg
West.

Center seat has been installed rearward facing to create a nice
conversation pit.
A removable table comes with it that fits in between for having
lunch, etc.

Front seat is the 60/40 bench design
Very clean inside with nice seat belts, factory style mats and so
on.

Dash is super clean with no modifications.
Modern audio installed under the parcel tray.

Stock radio remains in the dash but is disconnected.
Clean steering wheel and horn button.

Speakers installed in the front kick panels.

Rear box speakers are easily moveable as desired.
Nice headliner. Carpet in the rear areas,

Here is the table in place...really makes for a cool hang out
spot.

Door panels look great

Out back is a 1600cc 12 volt engine that was rebuilt roughly 22k
miles ago.
Its a good strong runner that has been well maintained.
New muffler and battery installed last year.

Pretty solid Bus underneath with its whole life spent in
California.

Still all factory original finishes under here...nothing hidden.

Still factory stock transmission with the gear reduction boxes.

A bit of road grime perhaps but no signs of horrific leaks or
issues.

Good tires all the way around.
Brake system was flushed and bled last year as well.

New muffler and tailpipe

New fuel tank installed a while back as well

New Interstate battery

Pretty clean in here, but obviously not show level. Its a driver,
not a trailer queen.

Original manuals

All body tags are present

Paint and body was done around 20 years ago
but still remains clean and pretty.

Nice gloss and smooth bodywork.

All window rubber and body seals were replaced at the time of the
restoration.

Nice reflection down the sides.

There are some bubbles popping up at the base of the nose just
above the bumper.

Nose is very straight

What a great face

Splash panel is in place under the front

There are a couple spots on the rain gutters where a previous
repair is evident.
Better photos of this to come

Fresh air box

Rear bumper has a minor deformity along the area where it meets
the bumper guard.

Center seat of course could easily be swapped to face forward if
desired.

Under the rubber mats a smooth sheet of steel was installed by the
owners father
years ago.

Rocker panel detail

There is one area where there was a little rust perforation in the
floor as you can see here.
Small spot, certainly not structural .

Here is a larger section where the floor metal has rusted.
Keep in mind this has been treated from above and the floor has an
extra later of metal across the top
so its certainly fine to leave as is, but the purist may prefer a
more proper factory repair.

Along the back edge of the roof in the gutter is one of the areas
I mentioned before.

A repair from ago that is starting to lift slowly.
Its been stable, but something is going on under there.

Front floors show signs of some repair and patching in the past as
well

Good quality Blaupunkt audio unit.

A couple small paint chips on the bumpers

A few more interior shots just for fun

Another of the engine...fun to see the factory "governor" in place
under the carburetor.
Those are so often tossed!

Frame rails and outriggers looking good

Pretty solid old Bus.
Not totally "rust free" as shown in the other photos
but she's a very sound and structurally solid example in my eyes
based on these photos.

A closer pic in better light of the bubbles along the base of the
nose.

Spare wheel and tire behind the seat
Hard to tell for certain here but the M code tag may be missing?

Overall for a final walk around it sure is a nice old Bus

Clean enough to be proud of but not so cherry that you would be
afraid to use it.

Good Bus, and I love the history of it as well. Same family since
1966!!

Plenty of room to haul your friends and family

A clean place to put them too...very nice interior
