1950 VW Standard Beetle Project For Sale
I think we all have a dream of finding an old split window Beetle in a barn.
Well...this one is not in a barn, but it certainly looks the part
of something that has been.
This is a 1950 model that has been off the road for many many years.
It is a full restoration project, it has rust and damage and has missing and incorrect parts.
If you are a purist looking for an original paint survivor with every little correct detail
hit the back button now and keep shopping.
This is a car that is best set for someone that wants a split project at a reasonable price that they can
work with over time. Chase the right parts down, perhaps restore or customize...heck it would be cool to get it running and drive it
just as it sits if you are into that sort of thing.
Sppedo and clock pods are present.
Steering wheel is Oval era
Feders are incorrect for the year as are the bumpers
There are some crusty bits down below.
The rust, while present, is not a horrible thing.
Overall it is pretty sound and is totally restorable.
The rusted areas are common spots and replacement metal is available

Hood is a four tab, but it is a little rough.
Lots of surface rust underneath...but most of it still holding.

Tags all in place.
She is scruffy for sure.
The money shot...there is just something magic about a split...people just freak when they see one.

Battery seems set on exiting from the rear, but has not made it through just yet.
Crank start apron, currently a 36hp engine in place but a correct 25 horse is included

Rear seat looks early Oval to me based on the material
Hard to tell what the front seats are like with the re-upholstery, but they do have the proper
flames with hold downs and the thin backrest.

What you see is what you get with this one.
Its a split, and its a real one, but it has lead a hard life and shows it.
I have seen much worse come back to show glory and it can be well worth the effort
to take it on and do something cool with it. Car is located in California.
