1965 VW Single Cab Transporter For Sale

This is a sweet truck with a well documented history that is located in
California.

The truck was featured in Hot VWs Magazine back in 1985 when it was
owned by a fellow in Arizona.
The current owner bought it in 1997 and brought it over to the folks at
West Coast Classics
to have the restoration done to take it to the next level. It was
completed in 1998 and has been garaged
and well kept, driven minimally and shows only minor age related flaws.

Very stock in all ways...this was done the way the factory
intended...no lowering or flashy colors
Just a proper original spec resto right on down to the painted grey
hubcaps.

The wood strips in the bed are due for a re-finish and there are a
couple of small paint blisters on the bottoms of the gates.
The bed is super straight and solid and the overall condition of the
truck is still impressive.

"Elephant ear" mirrors

There are a few paint chips on the bumper overrider.

Gates are very straight and smooth on this truck.

Nice reflection in the finish

Interior is all stock and clean.

Its a very good looking ride with or without the canopy.

Nice inside and out.

These are such great trucks...that wonderful simple split screen bus
face and that massive truck bed...
you can haul the world in one of these!

Treasure chest door on just the passengers side on this one, which is
the most common.
There were some that came with doors on both sides.

Great plate!

Clean and solid inside as well.

M code tag is present
Decoded it tells the story... Built April 29th 1965 with a destination
of Germany
Original color is L31 "Dove Blue" with 83-Mesh grey interior
Options include US Export equipment such as
Overrider bumpers, MPH speedometer, Laminated Glass windshields,
Sealed beam headlights and red taillights.
It also shows that it was originally delivered with the Tarp and Bows
on the back!

The engine is all stock and still 6 volts. It runs excellent and has
all the proper
equipment on it. It does look like the carburetor and fuel pump are
replacements, but all the rest looks bone stock to me.

Very clean inside

Body tag number on the fresh air vent.

Dash is clean and un-cut.

Steering wheel and horn push look great

The original radio is included but is not currently installed.

Correct speedometer in place,,,nice to see details such as the warning
lights redone and such.
The restoration was a good one.

Excellent floors and door jams

The rear canopy is a great addition to this truck and with it showing
on the M code tag as a delivered option,
I think I would run it on here all the time.

Nothing quite like these trucks...gates down it is a party platform
that is unrivaled!

They look so tidy and purpose driven with the canvas installed!

They look so fun with the sides rolled up on the canvas as well.

Another nice engine shot...very clean in here

Super clean and solid in the "under-bed" as well.

The weight designations on the fenders were also spelled out in the M
code tag...a very nice detail.

Looks like a little paint issue on the drivers side front wheel...easy
to fix though.

Tires look excellent

Nice pile of books and manuals included as well as the
original jack , radio, pile of receipts
and a copy of the Hot VWs Magazine that the truck was featured in back
in the 80's.

In the end...this is a very sharp truck.
Good and clean, stock and proper...and ready for fun.
Its hard to find a real good one of these...so many have lead hard
lives.
This one looks wonderful!
