1976 VW Bus with Subaru Power

This clean 76 Bay Window Bus comes to us from Pennsylvania.
Its a well built driver with fun custom color and a very nice modernized interior.
It has also been upgraded with a super reliable and powerful Subaru engine!

Great color and stance.
I love the Porsche style wheels and the chrome bumpers.

The restoration was done in 2016 and it has been driven and enjoyed since then.
Its not a flawless show car but it is incredibly fun and gets a ton of attention on the road.

The work was done by the prior owner who lived in Las Vegas
which explains the great style and super solid underbelly.
The engine is a 2.2 liter Subaru boxer that is bolted to the stock Bus transmission.

Very clean and professional install, looks great and runs smooth.

Radiators mounted on either side of the engine compartment with electric fans
pulling in cool air from outside the Bus  through the factory vents.

Smooth running and easy starting fuel injected Subaru engines
have been very popular transplants in recent day.

Air conditioning as well, so you can be cool while you look cool!

A/C syystem mounted under the rear seat as well as the battery and engine control computer.

Underside looks very solid with just a bit of surface rust, but no obvious concerns.

Disc brakes, good tires

Drum brakes in the rear

Shocks look recent

A/C condensor mounted cleanly underneath and protected by the frame rails

Again...looking pretty solid under here.
After a little time in the East there is a little surface rust as you can see but it
has always been kept out of the bad weather and still looks great.

What a cool cruiser!

The interior is a definite bonus to this one...really nice work and great style.
Awesome full instrumentation, custom steering wheel on tilt column.
Gene Berg shifter, modern audio system with display screen and more.

Cool design to the stitching on the seats and panels

Under dash unit for the A/C is very welcome on the hot days.

Rear area is totally trimmed out and features a rear bench that folds out into a bed.
Nice carpet and headliner.

There are a few paint chips and flaws if you look close, but no major damage.

Nice glossy paint and that color is just so bright and happy!

Again a couple chips and dings from use but still a super nice Bus.

Tinted windows look great

Chrome bumpers and nose emblem

Slightly lowered stance but not so low that its makes driving difficult.

Modern side mirrors are a very nice subtle change and visibility is great.

Glass and body seals are all in good shape

Clean ride!

The cockpit! Ready for flight!

Love that clean modern interior

Very well done

Tilt steering column is really neat as is that gorgeous wood rim steering wheel.

Seats are all in great shape

A very special and well done Bus...this looks like a great place to sit and see the world!

Neat Bus, well kept and well built.
Fly on in to Western PA and drive it home!
