1974 VW Westfalia Camper For Sale

This is a beautiful California based 1974 hardtop Westfalia.
Very nicely restored and cared for, stored in the ultimate climate controlled garage.
Ready for a new owner and some great fun in the son.

It shows extremely well and appears to be a very solid and straight example.

While it is certainly "show worthy", it is not a concours level restoration,
it shows a few small dings and signs of wear here and there but is obviously a well loved and cared for machine.

One pair of hands that has cared for this Bus in its past is non other than actor Tom Hanks.
Tom has been a VW nut for quite some time and he truly loves em.

He is not the current owner of the camper, but he did leave his mark so you can
tell the story to your friends and family when it is parked in your garage.

Yes... "gasp", his hands have gripped this steering wheel...and you can grip it too.

The celebrity past is a fun tidbit, but lets get down to the most important stuff,
the condition of the machine.

She is a beauty!
Very clean and attractive with a happy and fun stance to it with its widened wheels and fatter tires.
No modifications or oddness, the camper seems very pure and proper.

Nice fit and finish to everything.
The paint and bodywork is very clean but not flawless.

All portals open and close without issue, it definitely looks like a Bus that has not been wrecked or rusted.

It really classes up this garage don't you think?

Slight fade to the turn signal lenses, but no cracks or damage.

Floors look spectacular, no signs of rust or repair.

Original Westfalia tag as well as the California "camper" tag.

Vent on the side is the correct original with the little horse on it.
( I do like a good horse)

Looks super solid underneath

Modern audio system to you can jam your tunes.

She fits right in with all the cars in the stable.
This by the way is a private garage, not at a dealership or anything.
The vehicle is being sold by its current private party owner located in California.

Decisions...decisions...
When in doubt... Take the Bus!

Odometer reads just under 53k miles.
Not sure of how many total are on the Bus and no service records are here to document the mileage.

Sink looks clean and the interior cabinets are in impressive condition.

Everything is very clean inside!

Water tank looks excellent.

Headliner panels look great

Ice box is very clean inside

Front compartment too is very clean and attractive.

Spice rack side table is excellent

Gorgeous

Out back is a smooth running stock engine with dual carbs.
New battery, well kept and tuned. It gets started regularly while in storage
but really is begging to hot the open road and get some miles under its wheels.

Bumpers are clean and straight

I love the slightly wider stock wheels ...looks awesome and definitely improves handling.
Tires are excellent as well.

Chrome is excellent, flat "H4" headlamps

Rocker panels look super smooth and solid.

"Dog legs" as well

The seat upholstery is done in a great stripe material...really clean and comfy.

Crank out camper windows are excellent.

Love those amazing solid original floors

Go Westy sticker under the engine lid...makes me wonder if they were involved in the build?

Georgetown University sticker was left in the window from Tom's ownership

Small dent on the passenger side rear corner

Beautiful interior!

Slight fade as well to the taillight lenses, but no cracks or damage

Matching Westfalia camp stool is in the back

No leaks or grungy mess underneath

Grateful Dead sticker ...gotta have it!

76 ball

Clean California title with current registration.
Being a 1974 model, it is "pre-smog" for California, which is a big bonus.

Surfrider Foundation plate frame up front

Original body tag behind the passenger front seat.

Very solid underneath

Comes with a "Wilson" Volleyball!
Ever watch the movie Castaway?
You should!

Glass and rubber seals are all excellent

No signs of rust or repairs underneath.
A very solid example

Being a hardtop too...there are no issue with garage parking in your average suburban garage like with the pop top models.
Of course...if you have a garage like the one in the background...such issues are a laugh.

In closing...this is really a great Bus.
Super clean and solid and with a fun history.
Its a vehicle that will make any new owner proud, regardless of wallet or garage size!
