1970 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe For Sale

This beauty comes to us from Washington State.
Its an extremely clean example that has roughly 1000 miles on it since completion.

The current owner bought it as an unfinished project in 2021and completed the work
in June of 2025.

Painted in the original L20E "Amber Orange" and the finish quality is very very nice.
The body remains stock in form with no major modifications.

The only thing changed trim wise was the removal of the reflectors that normally go below the taillights.

The owner has gone well above the call of duty to send photos of the details of the car which is really awesome.
Seeing the car this well gives great confidence to a buyer at a distance and also shows a glimpse into
the level of focus he put into the restoration.  At first I thought I might delete some images
but I have chosen to post them all so potential buyers can see everything. I'll avoid commenting
on each and every image, but will chime in with details here and there...so get ready to scroll...there is a LOT to see.

Amber topped "Euro" spec taillights look great

Great fit to the headlights...a common trouble spot for Ghias.
This one is nice!

The engine is a 1776cc based on a new AS41 magnesium case.
69mm counterweighted crank, Gene Berg rods and Berg 296 cam.
AA 90.5 Pistons and Cylinders with Grant rings and Total Seal top rings,
Heads done by Tim's Performance workshop.
CB Performance lightweight lifters, stock rockers on CB Performance shafts with 911 adjusters.
aluminum pushrods. Berg oil pump and relief cover, Berg deep oil sump, Berg lightened flywheel
and equalizer crank pulley.  Everything fully balanced during assembly.

Carbs are 40idf Webers with velocity stacks in the filter housings.
Gene Berg linkage. All factory engine tins including flaps and thermostat.
NOS German oil cooler and an external filter system with braided stainless lines.

Very well built setup here that is reliable and tame while having the beans to give when
you are feeling like you need that adrenaline boost. This set up hits 88hp at the wheels
with 99 foot pounds of torque, Not crazy, but fun.

Extremely clean everywhere you look

Ceramic coated heater boxes and a Kymco ceramic coated header exhaust.
Muffler is a modified Ghia specific unit from Gene Berg.

If the devil is in the details...this all looks heavenly to me!

Chassis is fully detailed as well.
Rock solid and clean and very well finished.
Pan has been powder coated and undercoated.
Front beam has been fully rebuilt and features Avis adjusters.
Empi sway bars, stock Ghia front disc brakes but ungraded with Wilwood calipers.

All fresh under here, new shocks, bushings and everything.

Clean and solid rockers

Rear torsion bar has a welded in adjuster by Sway Away for simple adjustment of ride height.
Rear brakes are larger units from a Type 3.

New axles and CV joints, rear sway bar, deep sump and more.
Transmission is a stock unit, fully rebuilt and fitted with heavy dty rubber mounts and Berg mid mount.

Spin on oil filter is well placed under the rear valance on the drivers side.

OK, now some beauty shots

The car is cool...but that background...WOW!

Such a beautiful looking ride, great color, obviously impeccable it its restoration.
Nice mild custom stance, not silly low. The Gas Burner wheels look great too.

Hard to imagine finding a cleaner one than this...I'm sure there are some, but this is very tidy.

I love the Spokane dealer plate frame and period proper plates.

Date codes on the tires

More engine details

Very clean in the engine room

Stock latches have been chrome plated for a super clean look.

Proper window seals and trim.

New wiring harness

Nice tool roll and restored jack.

Very straight inside the nose

Spare wheel with space saver tire

Excellent chrome and very nice shut lines.

So sweet

Interior is all fresh from Stayfine.
Nice color combination, custom but still classy.

New threshold plates too

No smoking!

Crazy with the detail pics eh?  Like wow!

Nice auxiliary gauges added, oil temp and pressure.

Chrome latches are a neat touch

So I think thats about it photo wise...Ill finish up with some beauty shots here
but it is quite obvious that this is a special car. You just don't see them done this cleanly often
and while it is not without flaw, its damn nice and is always well received at any show it has attended.

If you are someone that really wants a nice example that is done and ready to roll,
this looks like a dreamy find. With the rising costs of restoration as well, this really is a great deal for
the asking price. Its hard to imagine getting any shop to build one this nice for less.

Thanks for scrolling all the way to the end here and big thanks to the seller for taking the
time to get all the pics of the nitty gritty details.  It really shows well.
