Total dream machine for cruising the beach.
This 1965 Beetle has been beautifully transformed into a full custom Woodie wagon
here in Southern California by a local craftsman...and its killer!
This gentleman has built a couple of these but in my opinion this one is the best yet.
I love the color and love the details, it is absolute fun from bumper to bumper.
Based on a regular 1965 sedan, the whole rear body has been built in wood.
Excellent finish and color choices, I love the period look taillights , rear mounted spare and
other accessories. The VW logo mudflaps, curb feelers, taillight tips and the classic aloha surf racks
this one has it all!
The car features a 40 Ford style fiberglass front hood that adds greatly to the illusion.
Headlight eyebrows, sun visor, fog lights and hood ornament...it all just looks so "right"
Fantastic personalized California license plate and Hawaiian plate frames.
I love the grille guard as well...another very sweet touch.
The roof on the inside is gorgeous!
Finished so beautifully.
So nice!!
The interior is trimmed out and themed very well with wood tiki shift knob
bamboo parcel tray, aged brown steering wheel wrap and shift boot.
The chrome 12 volt fan is another great looking and functional item.
Restro sound radio in the dash allows you to pump the surf tunes.
Ivory knobs look sweet and that added clock above the radio is a neat addition.
Natural fiber coco mats, beautiful interior, this ride has it all.
Underneath the car is very solid and sound.
You can see a nice view of the freshly rebuilt 1600cc engine in this shot as well.
Mechanically it is excellent and is very fun to drive.
The nice array of surf stickers in the back windows also add greatly to the theme.
It is just so well done without being "overdone".
I don't think I would add or take away anything on this ride
with the exception of maybe a nice longboard on the roof.
Whitewall tires and the beauty rings.
Baby moon hubcaps, gravel guards and aluminum running boards.
I just plain love it!
If you want to be the talk of the town this summer, this one will do it.
I guarantee the crowds will love it!
