1973 VW Super Beetle Convertible For Sale

1973 was a big year for changes for the Super Beetle models, both hardtop and convertible.
The largest change of course is the big curved windshield and the redesigned dashboard behind it.

This bright orange beaty comes to us from Minnesota and it presents itself very well.
A clean and attractive car that is all stock and proper and looks like it rolled off the showroom floor.

Nice paint, nice top. Bumpers have the rubber impact strip, taillights look very clean.

Really good looking ride in the factory orange color...can get much more 70's than this!

Nice glossy finish and clean chrome

The car has been repainted in the factory orange color.

Engine out back is an all stock 1600cc dual port.

Looks like some overspray on the engine from the repaint, but as you can see in the pics the engine remains
very stock and original. Small details catch my eye such as the original German style hose clamps on the fresh air hoses
and the proper air cleaner in place, the first to use the paper element versus the early oil bath design.

Open that door and step right in!

Truly I think this is the icon when it comes to the Super Beetle era...bright orange convertible
with a black top and interior. The first year for the "elephant foot" taillights and many other small changes.

Door seals look good, interior is clean and appears quite original

Could use perhaps a little pass with some vinyl cleaner and a rag to give it a wee bit of gloss
but everything looks to be in very good shape with no notable damage.

Odometer reading of 62400 miles is thought to be original to the car

Looks to be original carpets and mats, the dash looks clean and unmodified, original Am/FM radio is still in place.

Vintage ladybug floormats are awesome!
Plastic trim panel covering the seat adjuster is getting brittle and losing material but replacements are
readily available and are a simple install.

I think a good detail to this interior will really bring it up a notch!
Its not bad as it sits, but a little vinyl treatment and a good vacuum will make it all pop.

Owers manual in the glove box is an earlier model...probably 1965 ish?

Under the front hood looks clean and original.

I also love the 73-74 models as they are the last year to have the
simple carburetor rather than the fuel injection of the later cars.
The fuel injection cars run great, and that cold start up of a well tuned fuel injection VW is fantastic,
but when it comes down to service and the price of the parts...I will take a carburetor car any day!

Looks quite solid underneath especially considering the location of the car.
Obviously not driven in the bad weather or on the salted roads.

Minnesota Collector car registration and clean and clear paperwork.

That top fits very nice I must say!

Love those 5.5" wide wheels too...makes it look a bit more sporty and very fitting with the wider body style of the
model 1303 Super Beetle.

In closing this looks to be a very clean example of the model.
Overall low original mileage and some strong originality with a very nice quality respray
and a nice new top. This is an attractive machine.
