1966 Meyers Manx Dune Buggy

Based in Orange County California, this is an original certified Meyers Manx
that has been well preserved and recently mechanically rebuilt.
Its got the classic iconic 60's look to it with the painted wheels and hubcaps and fun red metallic finish.
Its like a toy come to life!

Certified by Winnie Meyers as a genuine Manx 2 body with the original serial number tag in place.

Freshly rebuilt 1600cc engine, classic "boom tube" exhaust and a cool louvered chrome belt cover.

Perfect balanced stance and great wheel and tire choice.
Raised white letter Cooper tires all the way around.

These cars are so incredibly fun to drive and the leave a trail of smiles everywhere you go.
There is really nothing quite like a Dune Buggy when it comes to fun factor!

I love the simple chrome roll bar.
(More for show than actually "rolling" I'm sure)

New tiresm hubcaps and beautifully finished wide wheels.

Simple buckets up front and a cool period pattern on the rear bench.

The body has been repainted and is not original gel coat but the finish is very nice and the color fantastic.

Meyers Manx nose emblem is present and a very clean chrome front bumper.

This one definitely has "the look".
So many are modernized and personalized it seems, when I see one done
simple and "in period" with its layout and accessories it really does it for me.
Fresh off the set of Beach Blanket Bingo is the way these are supposed to be to me...and this one does that.

Chrome headlights and side morrors, turn signals are sourced from a 1961-1963 Beetle

Windshield frame and roll bar are at the right angles...Bruch would approve of this one I feel.

The engine is a fresh rebuild and is very clean. 1600cc dual port and 12 volt electrics.
The chassis is a 1966 model and it is titled as a 1966 VW

One of the coolest parts about the car is the conversion to the IRS rear suspension
which allows for the rear wheels to avoid that wild camber of the swing axle set up.
This allows for greater stability on road and trail, especially with the big tires.
4 speed manual transmission of course.

The converios to IRS is very well done and the added skid plate under the engine is
another great addition that keeps the rocks and weeds off the bottom of the engine.

Stock front suspension and a clean solid pan.
Brakes are good and it is a turn-key runner that is ready for fun.

The dash features a nice simple array of instruments.

Engine sure looks clean and fresh.

And of those exhaust pipes dive it that perfect "dugga dugga" sound.

Taillights and license plate light match the 1966 specs of the chassis and are the
timeless perfect Meyers Manx original style choice.

Original BF Meyers tag as well as the Meyers Manx Registry authentication tag are fitted to the body.

In closing, this is a good one!
Great for collector or driver alike. Its got all the right stuff
and a lot has been spent recently to get it into top shape.
As Bruce always said...the Manx give you more Smiles per Mile than any other car!
