1963 VW Beetle Ragtop Sedan For Sale
The custom VW scene is a pretty fun one...everybody has their own take
on what is
cool and the variety makes it always interesting. Some cars "nail it"
with a look that is widely
accepted...while others miss the mark. This one? Looks like a
bullseye to me...it is awesome!
This car was built by the folks at KCW in Colorado...they have
developed quite a name for themselves when it comes to
the projects that pour out the door. They build some cool looking rides
indeed.
This car is located in the state of Ohio and it has less than 300 miles
on it since the completion of the build.
This was a ground up...body off restoration with every nut and bolt
touched.
Very high end parts used for the build such as this A1 stainless
exhaust.
The car rides on 17"x7" Airevos BRM wheels from Belgium.
8" narrowed KCW static front beam and a seriously low stance.
The detail level is high...show-clean in all the deep corners.
New everything, wiring, rubber, etc.
Lots of nice details with the fasteners used and quality finish.
Interior is cleanly done in vinyl and tweed in a nice color combo that
compliments the Diamond Green paint color.
Flat 4 banjo steering wheel sets off the dash very nicely.
Full instrumentation hidden in the glove box.
Nicely tailored door panels and slick billet aluminum handles.
Headliner done in tweed. Factroy sunroof fully restored and functional.
Seat upholstery is clean and well fit.
Nice job of the gauge install.
Very smooth bodywork and paint.
Those wheels are tucked right in those fender wells...really tough look!
Body is very stock specs with the exception of shaved front signals,
washer nozzle, and early taillights.
Euro style bumpers with short gaurds...fluted Euro style headlight
lenses as well.
These wheels are pretty sharp. The owner says they are possibly the
only set in the US at this time.
Nice level of detail behind the bumpers.
Under the engine lid.
44idf Weber carbs top the 2332cc engine built in California by
Powerhaus.
Engine room is super clean, nice serpantine belt system.
There is a thermostat controlled oil cooler and fan to keep it cool.
Transmission is a Rancho "pro-street" box with a new Rhino case,
sway-away axles and freeway flyer 4th gear.
The car has been shown locally and has been very well received.
Classic style with some modern mechanics, and all blended together
artfully.
Note the Gene Berg shifter too.
Very sharp machine.
Stored indoors and driven minimally...less than 300 miles on it since
it was done.
Kept safe from the elements in it's own car cocoon.
One sweet ride...obviously a ton of time and money went into the build
and it is priced at a level
so far below the build price it just seems like a bargain to me if you
want a truly "done" and show worthy ride.
Great car.
