1972 VW "Marathon" Super Beetle For Sale
This South Carolina based 1972 Super Beetle is a truly gorgeous car inside and out.
Less than 1000 miles on the car since completion, it is show ready for sure.
The color is "Marathon Blue Metallic" and was a special color for 1972.
These cars were sold as special edition models in this color code, some called the "Marathon Edition"
celebrating the Beetle's record of the longest running model of any vehicle ever, a place of honor it acheived by passing
the Ford Model T and over 15,000,000 cars!!
In some markets this color combo was badged as the Baja SE, celebrating VW's championship wins at Baja.
Whatever the dealer tagged the cars at, the color was special and was available only in 1972.
The wheels you see on the car were also a part of the package.
These special steel wheels were originally painted in silver and did not have the trim ring seen on this car
but the center cap is correct and these are quite hard to find.
Tires on this car by the way are just like new
The car has been restored from top to bottom and is very clean indeed.
The 1600cc dual port engine has been rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago and the car runs great.
The interior is all custom, but done in matching colors, and boy does it look awesome!
Custom door panels as well...very unique approach.
Excellent dash, nice blue carpets, ladybug floor mats to keep the carpet clean.
All new bushings and such in the front end...underside is clean.
