1968 Meyers Manx Dune Buggy For Sale

This Southern California based Manx is a true show stopper.
This was a no expense spared build by a passionate detail oriented gentleman
that wanted the ultimate play toy.

Starting with a genuine Meyers Manx buggy that he bought about 20 years ago,
the car was completely gone through professionally and refined over his years of ownership to the amazing ride you see here.
It is estimated that there is close to $50k invested in the build of this car during his ownership
and after seeing the photos, you can believe it...she is stellar!

A matching Aspencade trailer comes with the car which is a very cool touch.

Its an impressive rig indeed.
Check out that amazing custom rollbar,
the polished side panels, that chromed trailer tongue, etc.

Suspension parts have been chrome plates as well as the shocks and tie rods.
The car has been ins storage for a few years and could use a little detailing
to bring this all back to show level, but as you can see it is in stellar condition.

The custom flamed paint job is truly gorgeous.
Check out the custom flamed bikini top as well

That gorgeous paint continues to the trailer.

Great storage capabilities for chairs and camping bits.

That paint and the colors are SO gorgeous!
The fade from yellow to red and the blue pinstripe are as fine as they get.

The pinstriping and detailing carries around the back of the body as well.
The engine in this beauty is an absolute beast!
With 48 Weber carbs and a displacement in the 2.4 liter range...this is an absolute screamer!
The trans has been built to manage the power and the brakes in the rear have been upgraded to disc.
While the car has been in storage for a few years, the engine has been fired up regularly and it has been driven around the block
now and then as well.  The owner/builder of the car is having extreme health issues and the family has decided it is time to
see the car go to a new home.  Its been a well loved machine and that obviously shows in the condition and quality of the car.

Full custom interior is stellar!
Two tone tweed with yellow piping, the grey Deist harnesses are perfect.
Note the turning brake handles in the center.

Amazing custom upholstery on the side panels with dimensional flames.

Rear seat is done to match and is in excellent shape.
The gorgeous custom roll cage in the car has such a great flow to the design!

Full instrumentation with Pro comp gauges from Auto Meter.
Pedal assembly has been chromed, wiring is cleanly done.

Such a sweet rig!!

Dang! That's pretty!!
This Buggy has been a prolific award winner when shown.
The owners were members of the Manx Club and attended many events.
At the annual Big Bear meeting of the Manx Club, Bruce Meyers personally inspected the car and verified that it is an original Manx.
The family is in the process of getting the certification done right now, so when the tag and certificate come in
we will post that information as well.  The history of the car as it is know is that when first built
in the day it was yellow with a Corvair drivetrain and was Southern California based.
The brother of the owner also built his own genuine Meyers Manx some years back with one of the
"Signature" Meyers bodies that were done in a limited production if 100.
This body of course is an earlier production unit, but the point of my mentioning all of this is that these folks
know the difference between an original and a clone, and the car has been seen by the man himself...so I have no doubt of its legitimacy.

Chrome axle tubes, nicely done disc brake conversion,
I see nice ceramic coated exhaust here in this pic as well as a remote oil filter.

Such a fun little rig.

Well detailed and dialed in. I love the pinstripe works, very cool.

The trailer too. So cool!

I love the dimensional flames on the roof as well...very neat design and overall look.

Lots of lights on the back of that little trailer too, so it will definitely be seen.

The polished side panels and chrome wheels go together very well.

Interior is beautiful!

Nice work and very fun colors that go perfectly with the exterior.
This is not a car for the shy type, this is fun and loud and tons of fun.

The family is getting the the Meyers certification under way.
Rather than wait for all of this to happen I wanted to get the ad posted right away
as the family is in need of the funds for medical care for the owner. Its an unfortunate spot to say the least, but
if a good home can be found for this amazing Manx, it will be a very positive thing.
Please feel free to make a reasonable offer, a quick and clean sale is desired here and while every bit of the
sales price will help the situation, the goal is to get the car sold and to do it fast.
So don't be shy...make that offer!!
