1959 Karmann Ghia "Lowlight" Coupe For Sale
SOLD!

This Orange County California based 1959 Karmann Ghia is a pretty impressive car.

A desirable "Low Light" model, considered by many to be the most pure and beautiful of the Ghias
and the paint color is absolutely stellar in its "Aero Silver" that has the most incredible greenish tint to it.

Birth certificate from Germany tells the story of the car from the beginning.
February 1959 production destined for Grand Rapids Michigan

A US spec car that has been restored in the original colors and details.

The interior is very clean, the whole car really is showroom worthy.
In fact that is where it has spent most of its time since completion of the restoration...
sitting as an art piece in a private showroom.

Firestone wide white bias ply tires.

Really a beautiful machine...those lines are just amazing.

Well detailed under the hoods and in the deep corners

Original body tag is present

The inside of the nose is impressively straight and clean.
New wiring harness

Nicely detailed and appears fresh.

Painted well under the nose.

Chassis was fully restored.

Very clean

This body off restoration was done a handful of years ago according to the owner.
He purchased the car as you see it here, and he unfortunately has no knowledge of who
did the restoration work or exactly when, but obviously the photos show the quality of the work
pretty well and the car has really only been driven a few times .

Clean and dry under the engine and transmission

KYB GR-2 shocks and an adjustable front beam

Looks solid in the fender wells

Clean ride

Glass is excellent as well as the trim and rubber bits

Chrome is good, tires look great.

Nice details wherever you look

Engine tin and parts are all well restored and refinished.

36hp engine as original (not sure if it is THE original engine or not)

Big nut on the generator pulley is an earlier model detail
Manual choke carburetor and original oil bath air cleaner look correct.

Still 6 volt electrics.

The car has been on display in a private showroom purely as a beautiful thing...which it is.
The seller has a clear title for it, but it does not appear to have current registration.
Common sense would suggest that after some years of primarily being a display piece
that it would be wise for a new owner to give the car a full service and check all systems before
putting any serious miles on the car.

The car cosmetically is really gorgeous though.
That paint color and nice quality bodywork really has a presence to it.

Correct large script emblem

All the hard to find little trim bits and such are here and look great

Interior looks fantastic!

Headliner is excellent

Headliner done in pin point vinyl.
New padded sun visors.

German square weave carpets and very nicely done door panels with all the correct trim

So clean!

Very cleanly restored controls

Odometer reads 95 miles which I would guess is what the car has on it since completion
of the restoration...so it is not even broken in at this point.

Steering wheel and horn ring

Beautiful interior and I just love the colors

Dash looks amazing.

Nice chrome and paintwork

Nose emblem

I dont know about you...but Im freakin drooling on my keyboard here. So pretty!

There is truly nothing quite like these early model Ghias when it comes to a
sexy and smooth flowing body shape. It seems so far more exotic
than something that has a VW logo on it. Stunning cars.

In closing this is really a darn nice car.
Well done, well kept, and certainly show worthy.
